Our client requested a space for washing and folding clothes that felt warm and peaceful. We expanded her laundry room’s small footprint to include space for a countertop, drawers, and upper cabinetry. Our jumping off point for the design was this rich green color. We created a custom door profile that combines a mini-shaker molding and a step down detail. Counter to ceiling cabinets flank a custom metal and glass ceiling-mounted shelf that we welded in house for this project. We added warmth with a solid walnut countertop that we also fabricated in house. For a splash of texture we selected this matte cream subway tile that has an organic, handmade look. These various textures and elements come together to create a harmonious space that, hopefully, makes laundry a bit more enjoyable.
